Leshten and Kovachevitsa are located in the western Rhodope mountain. The villages were pronounced “Architectural and Historical Reserves of National Importance” and they are very popular destinations for country tourism.
Both villages attract tourists with an authentic look and unique old houses, preserved since the Bulgarian Revival (18th – 19th century). The architecture of the houses is original and envokes the spirit and atmosphere of the past. The narrow cobblestone streets lead the tourist to cozy small pubs where they can try delicious local dishes prepared from organic products.
